Everybody needs somebody and everybody also needs a file server at home. For some years, I was using a Fiono box but it was not really fulfilling my needs. The fan in the box was very noisy and I had to run over maintenance cycles very often.

So, here it is. The very first post ever using the picoBlog platform!!!... I feel like I have to shout: IT'S ALIVE! OK, this is actually a continuation of our blog at Papermint Designs. We are just changing to a new platform. A platform of our own that we had named picoBlog. Nothing really special about it. It is just tiny.
Our previous platform was more than OK, actually it provided a lot more functions that we will ever need, and it a sense, that is a waste. On the other hand, building our own blog platform is a nice exercise to get back in touch with PHP...

We had done quite some stuff without playing nasty with our phone. There are still a couple of things we can do but, in order to keep the awesomeness level we really have to go and root our device. You may have had read many horror histories about rooting. You might be frightened... You are right. I have heard histories of devices coming back from the Smart Cemetery and claim for revenge on those users that profaned their firmwares.....heresy!!!.

So, you had notice we are using the shell a lot. If you are used to work on a standard UNIX shell you had also noticed that the Android command line is really limited. Well, somehow, that makes sense for a consumer electronics device like a phone. Most of the users won't ever notice that.
